Christopher
Ward, Associate Pastor
of Discipleship
Chris
is a Northwest native, born in Seattle and raised on Whidbey Island,
WA. A graduate of Whitworth College, Chris majored in Theater and
Music, with an emphasis in vocal performance. He was ready to set out
on a career in musical theater when he was sidetracked into youth
ministry. It did not take long before he knew that he could not be
content doing anything but serving the church. He and his wife Julie
packed their things and left for Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where
Chris earned his Master of Divinity. They adopted their daughter Imani
from Kenya the month Chris finished at PTS, and spent a few more years
doing youth work and settling in to parenthood. On the day of
Pentecost 2003, their son Andrew arrived on the scene, and the
following month Chris accepted the call to become the Associate Pastor
of Congregational Care here at Westminster. Chris comes to us with a
passion for ministry, a caring heart, and a firm commitment to equip
the church for service in the world.
Lori Boehning,
Associate Pastor
of Congregational Care
Lori Olson Boehning was born in the Midwest and graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, with a B.A. in Elementary Education. After serving as a 5th/6th
grade teacher and a Director of Children's Ministries, Lori felt the
call to attend seminary. She and her husband, Bill, moved west and
Lori graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, with
a Master of Divinity (Family Ministries) Degree in 1992. Twin
daughters were born in 1993 and a son in 1996, so for many years Lori
worked overtime at home. During that time, she completed her
ordination requirements, served in various part-time ministries, and
moved her family from California to Illinois and North Carolina. In 2008, she and her family felt the magnet of God's
call pulling them to Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was ordained and installed as our Associate Pastor for Congregational Care in November, 2008. Lori has been blessed with the gifts of preaching, teaching, and compassion -
and she is thrilled that she is able to utilize her gifts here at WPC.
